IBW is growing again. Welcome to Kingston! Rich in history and beautiful lake views. IBW Surveyors recently acquired Smith and Smith Surveyors and now has a location in Canada’s original capital.
Smith and Smith Surveyors has been working in the Frontenac County and surrounding area since the 1940’s, and is one of the oldest businesses between Belleville and Ottawa.

On Thursday September 20, IBW had their second annual Employee Recognition Day. A highlight of the day is presenting the Founders’ Award. This award is presented to a staff member that has been nominated by their peers. This years award winner was Andy Jones. It is well deserved! Ivan B. Wallace shared stories and sentiments about Andy, followed by Crystal Cranch unveiling his gift.

What’s more fun than a round of golf…? Picking out the most outrageous team outfits and supporting a great cause! On May 10, David Comery represented Ivan B Wallace in the annual Epic Golf Challenge to support Epilepsy Durham Region. His team won the title of Most Epic Funds raised and certainly did not disappoint in the amazing team wear.

We had the pleasure of hosting Grade 9 students on November 1. It was a chilly day, but they braved the cold and headed to work. They were able to experience the field, with our Field Supervisor, Ryan Domroes, using levels and finding bars.

On September 20, 2017 we opened our doors for our grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony. It was a pleasure to have support from the community with multiple councilors in attendance as well as the Mayor who performed the ribbon cutting.

Port Hope Area Initiative

Port Hope Area Initiative

In 2014 IBW Surveyors became actively involved with the Port Hope Area Initiative. This project is part of a larger scale venture to ensure the safe removal of low active radiation found in the soil. Since that time we have provided surveying services to over 100 road allowances and 200 private properties in the area. In addition, IBW has been involved in construction layout and quality control for the construction of waste management facilities designed to safely contain the radioactive waste.
