We are excited to announce that Ertl Surveyors and Hunt Surveys out of Richmond Hill have strategically joined with IBW Surveyors. This merger officially took place on March 1, 2022. Both Ertl Surveyors and Hunt Surveys will continue operating and serving clients in the Richmond Hill and surrounding areas the same as they always have, and will now be known as Ertl-Hunt Surveyors, A Division of IBW Surveyors Ltd.

Ertl surveyors is a medium-sized survey firm with 24 staff that was established in 1968 by the late Otto Ertl, OLS.

Ertl’s current president, Larry Ertl, OLS, has been building through acquisitions in recent years and has been a day one contributor to Land Survey Records.

Ertl Surveyors is a firm based on integrity, ethical practice, impartiality, and duty of care. The team understands the importance of both providing exceptional client service as well as upholding and improving the quality of the survey fabric of Ontario.

Hunt was established by Doug Hunt, OLS & MBA and Ivor Karpel in 1994. Doug and Ivor have both thrived in their careers by being the first choice of big-name construction and engineering firms such as EllisDon, Dufferin, and Lormel Homes to name a few. They have kept their company lean to avoid the need for admin and making the step to a medium-sized firm.

Hunt Surveys was acquired by Ertl in 2020 as part of their own succession plan with Doug and Ivor continuing to work for Ertl to this day.
